CAMPAIGN OBJECTIVES

CAPITAL OBJECTIVES:

I. STUDENT ACTIVITY CENTER
 $10,000,000
The proposed Student Activity Center  will serve as the center of the campus, housing student organizations and student service offices, an 800- seat dining hall, bookstore, and more. A major component of the building will be Pastoral Ministry offices and a new chapel for daily masses, individual prayer, and small group services. The proposed chapel will accommodate 100 people and will be accessible from both exterior doors facing the campus and the interior doors of the Student Activity Center. Students, faculty, and visitors will be able to drop in for a quick moment of prayer, an extended period of reflection, or daily Mass.

II. REVITALIZED ATHLETIC CENTER $10,900,000
With over 75% of the student body participating in traditional interscholastic athletics or club sports, an updated Athletic Complex provides expanded indoor sports practice, training, and competition areas for all students.
Expanded athletic facilities include:
- Competition basketball court and multi-use practice courts
- Weight room with state-of-the-art training equipment
- New locker, shower, and changing facilities
- Conference and instructional rooms
- Offices for coaching staff, related faculty, and athletic director's staff
- Competition Pool for swimming, water polo, and diving
- Tennis Courts

III. NEW STADIUM & FACILITIES $4,600,000
In 2003 Strake Jesuit joined the University Interscholastic League (UIL) for its athletic and extracurricular activities. The football program joined the UIL in the fall of 2004. In preparation for these activities, a new 5,000 seat multi-purpose stadium is currently being constructed to enable the school to host home events on campus. The stadium will include a type of artificial turf known to reduce injuries and effectively adds two acres to campus by providing space that can be used for practices and P.E. instead of being limited to use for games only. This phase of construction also provides infrastructure for the Revitalized Athletic Center.

ENDOWMENT OBJECTIVES:

IV. FINANCIAL AID ENDOWMENTS $4,000,000
At Strake Jesuit, part of our commitment to social justice is lived in the commitment to a diverse student body as evidenced in the creation and the management of the annual budget. Each year, over 10% of the student body benefits from financial aid. While making these capital improvements, Strake Jesuit is also committed to improving its assistance to its neediest students. To this end, the campaign objectives include a $2 million addition to the student financial aid endowment.

V. FACULTY SUPPORT ENDOWMENTS $2,000,000
Over the last forty years, the mission of Strake Jesuit has been embodied in the teachers of math, science, theology, history, literature, language and other subjects. They have seen teaching tools change from blackboards to smartboards. All along, the school has continued to be strong because of a commitment to faculty development. The campaign objectives call for additional resources for a faculty development endowment. An endowment will support faculty members' graduate education, continuing education, and course development.
