Soccer team needs fans

By Greg Arbogast

The soccer team has speed, skill, strength, and depth.

It’s only missing one thing…FANS!

Every Tuesday and Friday night, the soccer team takes the field
in front of a few parents and row upon row of empty seats. In fact,
you can normally count the number of students in attendance on
one hand.

Compare this to other teams in our district who fill their stands with
raucous students who can’t wait to show Strake Jesuit they don’t
belong in District 19-5A.

In an away game against Cinco Ranch, Cinco’s half of the stands
were three quarters full while Jesuit maybe had fifteen people in
attendance.

I know it’s cold outside, but that didn’t stop New England fans from
watching their Patriots dismantle the Titans in -4 degree weather.
Basketball season is nearly over, and that means that soccer is the
only game around every Tuesday and Friday night.

“If we get more fan support, it could give us the energy we need to win
some big games,” said junior Christian Siboldi.

The soccer team needs its students support, and you can help make
the difference as the soccer team makes its run toward playoffs.
